Oracle XML Publisher Integration

Oracle XML Publisher (XMLP) is a product available within the technology stack of the E-Business suite. Utilizing a set of familiar desktop tools such as Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word users can create and maintain their own report formats based on development delivered xml data extracts. XML Publisher will then merge XML data generated from the E-Business Suite to fill the forms with the required data and produce customer-ready PDF documents.  DeliveryWare lets you take full advantage of XMLP by providing seamless printing, delivery, preview, approval, archiving, and management of XMLP and other Oracle output.

Documents that can be produced by XMLP and distributed with DeliveryWare include:

  • Financial Reports
  • Business Reports
  • Invoices and Statements
  • Dunning Letters
  • Purchase Orders
  • AP Checks
  • Contracts
  • Government Forms
  • Bill of Lading
  • Tax Forms
  • Marketing Materials
  • Any Oracle Report
  • DeliveryWare supports XMLP as one of several options for formatting and delivering Oracle reports. DeliveryWare receives XMLP output (PDF) via the print, email, or fax channels of the XMLP delivery manager, captures delivery information and other instructions, and delivers the document via fax, email, DeliveryWare's Document Manager for preview and approval,  and more.  Additional rules-based processing and document viewing directly from Oracle EBS are also available.

DeliveryWare adds additional functionality not available with Oracle XMLP including:

  • Fax delivery (XMLP does not provide a fax server)
  • Attachment of additional documents to faxes and emails
  • Fax coversheets
  • User management and visibility of print, fax, and email delivered documents
  • Delivery success/failure notification to users and back to Oracle transaction
  • Document viewing from sending application (i.e. Purchasing) via Oracle Attachments
  • Delivery preview and approval workflow
  • Conditional deliveries based on supplier and customer record data
  • Additional rules-based delivery and archiving functions
  • Automatic submission of delivered documents to document management systems
  • Audit trail of deliveries for compliance
  • Merkur Group provided assistance with XMLP templates, data definitions, and concurrent program configuration
  • DeliveryWare is integrated with Oracle's XML Publisher providing automated fax and email delivery, approval routing and preview, archiving, and management of virtually any Oracle report.  To learn more, contact Merkur Group for a live Web demonstration of the Oracle formatting and document delivery functionality.
